Our innovative Magcat® Textured Technology is now in operation in over 36 reformers worldwide. The longest service to date is almost 5 years and we are pleased to share with you some recent customer sanctioned data highlighting the effectiveness of Magcat® and the improved profitability it gives to all our customers. The unique textured surface facilitates improved heat transfer and gas flow as well as several other benefits that lead to greater efficiencies in Steam reforming processes. A refinery in Europe was very happy to share the improvements in fuel savings per kg of Hydrogen by switching to UNICAT’s Magcat® Innovation.
By reducing the amount of natural gas required to produce a unit of hydrogen, our customer realized several benefits: Cost Savings, Improved environmental Impact, and Improved efficiency.
Assuming an average Natural Gas cost @ USD 10/MMBtu, our European customer is saving at least USD $226,500 per year on Natural gas consumption alone. For the typical 5-year run length, the total savings would be USD $1.13M and is less than a 3-month payback on the costs to switch to Magcat® from the competitors product.
This reduction in fuel usage not only brings significant cost savings, but also demonstrates the performance superiority of Magcat® in minimizing the costs to produce hydrogen.
